ROMA - For the first time since 2002, the Yellowjackets’ season ended in Week 10. They ended a disappointing campaign with a 21-14 win over the Roma Gladiators, who were trying to finish the season at 5-5.

E-E coach Joe Solis conceded that it was difficult to keep his team motivated for the season’s final week. Unlike the past six seasons, 2009 won’t end with a district championship or even a playoff berth.

“It’s hard when we win all the time and to know that you’re playing the last game and you’re going to have to turn all of your equipment in,” Solis said. “It was hard but I’m very proud of our kids. They have a lot of pride in themselves and they played real good tonight.”

The ‘Jackets end their season 4-6 overall and 3-4 in district play. Roma wraps up 4-6 and 1-6 in district.
