Three different players score as Flower Mound Marcus wins 5A boys crown

ROUND ROCK - Goals from Josh Mensah, Eric Przybysz and Eric Frazier carried Flower Mound Marcus past Klein, 3-0, to its second straight Class 5A boys soccer title Saturday.

Mensah and Przybysz scored their goals for Marcus during the first half, while Frazier's came after the break. Marauders senior midfielder Sam Garza was voted the game's most valuable player.

The loss for Klein ends the tenure of longtime coach Allen Baker, who is retiring after taking the Bearkats to 13 state tourneys and three titles.

Class 5A Girls

Shurtleff's two goals help Carroll to title

ROUND ROCK - Leslie Shurtleff scored two goals to lead Southlake Carroll to a 2-1 win over Plano East to take the Lady Dragons' first Class 5A girls soccer title.

Shurtleff was named tourney MVP. Carolyn Polcari scored for East.

Class 4A Boys

El Paso Del Valle edges Brenham

ROUND ROCK - Omar Jimenez scored two goals as El Paso Del Valle beat Brenham 3-2.

Nasser Abraham scored one goal for El Paso Del Valle.

For Brenham, Will Betts and Estarlin Pereira-Celis each had one goal and one assist.

Brenham goalie Cameron Wren made 10 saves. 

Class 4A Girls

McKinney Boyd beats Wichita Falls Rider

ROUND ROCK - Emily Reid scored two goals as McKinney Boyd beat Wichita Falls Rider 3-1.

Kelley Monogue also scored for Boyd. Kelsey Hill found the net for Rider.
