Badgers bolt past La Villa

LA VILLA 23 - The fireworks started early for the La Villa Cardinals but in the end it was the Ben Bolt Badgers who were able to pull away in the second half and gain at 40-23 victory.
With La Villa leading at the half the game’s turning point came in the third quarter on a blocked Jose Casas punt that set up the Badgers on the Cardinals’ 19-yard line with 8:50 left in the quarter. That scoring drive would be the first of 27 points scored in the half for the Badgers.
After sitting out the entire first quarter and seeing limited touches in the second, Ben Bolt’s Lawrence Herrera dominated the ground game as he put together a game-high 126-yard rushing performance capped with two touchdowns.
