Valley team to play for title at Palomino World Series

SAN JOSE, Calif., --- The Rio Grande Valley Longhorns, a select team comprised of recent 2010 graduates, is in the finals of the Palomino World Series. The Longhorns will play either Lynnhaven, Va. or Colton, Calif. in the championship that scheduled for 9 p.m. Tuesday.

Lynnhaven and Colton played in a semifinal late Monday night.

The Longhorns defeated East Lansing, Mich. (5-2) and Culiacan, Mexico twice (8-1, 17-10) to get to the final. The Longhorns are going for their second national championship. They won the Colt World Series in Lafayette, Ind. two years ago.
