Agua Dulce has no problems disposing of Santa Maria
SANTA MARIA --- Two minutes into the game Colby Whitley of Agua Dulce set the tone with a 56-yard touchdown run, and the Longhorns didn't look back during their 34-14 win on Friday night.
R.J. Soto led the Longhorns on offense with 13 carries for 204 yards and three touchdowns.
Agua Dulce finished with 462 yards of total offense.
After coming out of a scoreless half, Santa Maria quarterback Martin Rivas scored two touchdowns to give life to the Cougars but a fumble in the fourth quarter ended all hopes for a storybook comeback.
Soto rushed in for one final touchdown with six minutes left to seal the win for Agua Dulce.
Rivas finished the game with 17 carries for 134 yards, along with completing 5-of-15 attempts for 67 yards and two touchdowns.
Santa Maria had 363 yards of total offense.
QB Troy Rosas of the Longhorns went 2-for-5 with 35 yards and one touchdown.
