Edinburg High's Escobar signs with TAMIU

EDINBURG — Edinburg High’s first team all-district first baseman and pitcher Nick Escobar signed his letter of intent with Texas A&M International on Wednesday.
Escobar decided to play for the Dust Devils after meeting with the coach and touring the campus.
“I’m very excited about going on to play in the next level,” Escobar said. “The coaches are great and I think they can make me better.”
He finished the 2011 season with a .402 batting average and went 7-1 as a starting pitcher with a 3.18 ERA.
